A lot of people don’t save because it’s “too difficult” and takes too long. Lots of other people try but end up spending it all very quickly.

Here are a few tips to help you save money.

1. Use Spreadsheets

Spread sheets not only help keep track but you can also use it to help plan for the future. Yes you could see how you are spending but you could also use it to see what isn’t needed.

Most people spend their days shopping for unnecessary things that don’t get used ever again. They’re just there for show.

Using spreadsheets can help your life be easy and categorized so you can help save money by not buying useless things.

2. 50,30,20 Rule

When you earn money you should automatically put 50% aside for needs. Needs include: food, water, bills for housing, rentals (for housing) and medical things. Then put 30% aside for saving.

Pro Tip: Always pay yourself (put money in bank) before paying others

Then lastly put 20% into your want category. What do you want? Where do you want to go? What would you like to eat? Birthdays or important events? This is where you would get the money for these things that are leftovers and not AS important.

3. No Money Left

If you have the categories to use then you don’t have to worry. Most times if you have used your time wisely and put it away into the 50,30,20 categories you’re all set. But if you have money left instead of doing useful things with it you would spend it on junk because “it wasn’t being used”.

This is not true AT ALL. Save every single thing you have left over. Even if its in cents. Everything will add up in the end and who knows? You might become rich off of it.
