This seems very different than what I normally write about but it would save people from the trouble. The museum of ice cream is actually not very liked. It has 2.7 stars according to google, reddit and chatgpt.

The museum of ice cream is not worth the visit. Many people complain about many different things. Almost all of them say they wouldn’t go again.

Why is it not worth it?

  1. It’s too expensive for what you end up getting

People complain that for tickets $175-$220 it is not worth the visit when you only spend 45-90 minutes experience there.

2. Their “unlimited ice cream” is not entirely true

Instead of having unlimited ice cream like promised people normally end up having small sample sizes of already picked flavors. Many people have complained that they don’t have regular flavors like vanilla and chocolate. An actual ice cream is at the end but costs extra to the tickets.

3. It isn’t actually a museum

Many people go to the museum ready to learn about ice cream history and how it all started but end up going to find none of that. People say it is more of an attraction than an actual museum.

4. It is more of an “Instagram photo-op”

Because of the bright flashy colored walls people say it is more just to take pictures and say you’ve been there.

5. It is very crowded

Despite it being expensive there, a lot of people go there. Many people complain about having to wait in line to enter the next room.

6. There are broken exhibits

This has not often been complained but every once in a while, people will come to experience the museum of ice cream only to find it has broken exhibits.

7. The roons often feel repetative

Visitors take notice that many of the rooms are the same. If you don’t like paying around $190 for repetitive rooms, then I don’t recommend going.

8. Additional purchases

The special deserts and souvenirs cost more even though online it says the deserts come included. Drinks also cost more since only the ice cream is included.

9. People felt it is for little kids only

Because of all the little kid attractions people feel it is aimed to entertain only 5–12-year-olds.

Why it could be worth it

  1. There are friendly staff
  2. The rooms are bright and colorful
  3. Interactive games
  4. Younger kids (5-12) enjoyed the expirience
  5. The Sprinkle Pool is a memorable highlight to most kids

Over-all should I go?

I recommend against it. There are many other cheaper, funner options nearby like the Museum of Illusions, The Aquarium and The Boston Children’s Museum. But if you like things like it and can find cheaper tickets than it is up to you whether you want to go.
