There are 6 key parts when writing a check. You have to make sure you do all 6 or it might not count as an actual check. Making sure you write a full check is very important to whoever you’re giving it too so they can buy item. Here is a step-by-step process of writing a check.
- Write the date in the top-right corner. This is to tell the bank when the check was issued.
- Fill out the Payee line. This is the person/business you are writing a check too.
- In the small box write the amount you are giving in numbers.
- Write the same amount of money in letters.
- Write your signature on the bottom-right corner. If you do not do this then the check isn’t an actual check.
- OPTIONAL. If you want, you can write a little memo to help you remember what the check is for.
